The prominent Fortune Indonesia Magazine has just released the list of 20 Most Admired Companies in the archipelago. Giant enterprises such as PT Astra International, PT Garuda Indonesia, PT Adaro Energy are among the top of this prestigious list.
The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Kompas Gramedia, Agung Adiprasetyo, who opened the Fortune Indonesia Most Admired Companies (FIMAC) event, 2/5/13, stated that the awards are expected to encourage Indonesian companies to be further acknowledged at global level.
“The recognition on companies who have performed well and deserved to be admired will always become attention of Fortune Indonesia Magazine as we hope that there will be many Indonesian companies to win worldwide acknowledgement,” said Agung, as quoted from Kompas. In selecting and deciding the 20 most admired companies, Fortune Indonesia Magazine collaborated with Hay Group Indonesia. The Group conducted a survey to 20,000 respondents throughout Indonesia, whose names were drawn from the directory of Indonesian companies. The respondents consisted of leaders and key persons who were requested to answer relevant questions.
The survey was conducted from 1 September 2012 to 31 January 2013. In that survey, each respondent was asked to select three most admired companies in each sector listed in the Indonesia’s Stock Exchange based on nine criteria, namely management quality, product or service quality, innovation, value as long term investment, strong financial status, ability to attract, developing and retaining potential employees, responsibility to community and or environment, a wisdom in using company’s assets, and effectiveness in doing business at regional and global levels.
“The names of those companies made available to the respondents refer to the Fortune 150 list, that is the biggest Indonesian companies based on income and market capitalisation,” added Agung.
