Companies can only succeed in the long-term if they recruit and motivate people who are able to respond to and shape the challenges of the future.– by University of Cambridge
Business has only two functions – marketing and innovation – by Milan Kundera.
The growth of property business in Indonesia, particularly 2013, was just amazing. Skyscrapers, apartments, landed houses, malls, and hotels are no longer hard to find in Jakarta, and any other cities all over Indonesia. “The property business has never gone this good before” said a friend of mine (who is an economist). The article of RMA Van der Schaar strengthens my friend’s statement, where he said that the property market in 2012 and 2013 in Indonesia grew exceptionally! (68% for 2012, and 41% just for the first quarter of 2013). This growth brings Indonesia to a potential property bubble, making many other property developers to emerge to the market. Realizing many competitors coming, our people have to be able to run way faster than competitors. In order to do so, Human Resource Talent Development decided to make a five-month development program (18 December 2013-25 April 2014) for Human Resource and Marketing Managers, called as Human Resource Academy and Marketing Academy.
Why Human Resource?
We believe that our success lays on YOU, our people, our teamwork. Since there is no manual book as in how to manage this type of people, or that type of people, I believe that managing people is actually the hardest job possible. Currently, there are more than 4000 people working with us, and this number will go no less than this. The number keeps growing along with our business growth. Our HR team has to recruit and motivate people who are able to respond to and shape the challenges of the future; and this requires a deep, wide training and understanding. So we hope through the classes given such as:
Organization Design & Man Powering, Job Analysis, Job Evaluation, Recruitment Management, Understanding Assessment Report, Couching and Counseling, Budgeting, Salary Structure, HR Policies, APRHIS Optimization, Performance Management Balance Scorecard & KPI, Training Need Analysis, Project Improvement, Talent Management Succession & Career Management, Becoming Inspiring Leader, Attitude Transformation Program, Man Power Planning, HR Management @ POM & Developer.
We hope the ‘students’ have a better understanding how to manage people, developing them, motivating them so they can run faster than others.
Why Marketing?
The business is in the business as long as they exist, known, and saleable in the market. Regardless of how aggressive our competitors out there, we have to be more aggressive than them. The marketing team has to be creative, creating something different than others. Therefore, they need to be trained, especially the managers – so they can lead their team in a more inspiring way. The training classes offered were:
Becoming Influencer Leader, Marketing Strategy & Planning, Leadership Skill, Communication Skill, Promotion, Business Ethics & Customer Relation, Going Extra Miles, Project Improvement, Sales team work, Sales in Bulk, Sales Innovation Strategy, Administration, Make Yourself Unforgettable.
In the end, learning is a never-ending process. Even managers sitting in a class, listen to the lecturer, presenting and making creative ideas through this HR Academy and Marketing Academy, I believe the knowledge given is all worth having. When people say the tassel worth the hassle, I would say the experiences worth the future.
Congratulations to all graduates! Cheers to your brighter journey that has just begun.
To other directorates, please be still, we will surely come to you as well!
